Week 4

Hello Preschool Families and Friends,

We had another fabulous week in preschool!

Highlights from this week:

We watched out butterflies come out of their chrysalis’ and set them free so they can start their journey south.

We learned all about apples! Our first field trip was so fun! A big thank you to all of the parents (and grandparents) who came and chaperoned!  

Next week we will:

Use our apples to make apple sauce and some apple art!

We will learn about the letter C and start our mini-monster unit.

I placed the book order today! Thank you to all of the parents who ordered! We were able to get some free books for the classroom that are perfect for fall! We will send home October’s flyers next week.

Dates to Remember:

October 4th- Picture Day (No school this day so come in any time with your form to get pictures taken)

October - 17th from 6:00-7:00 Open House

October 19th- No School

Week 3

Hello Preschool Families and Friends,

We have been having so much fun in preschool!

This Week

We learned The Listening Rules which help us listen at circle time.  

Eyes Watching

 

 Ears Listening

        

Voices Quiet

Bodies Calm

We also began our Fundations curriculum beginning with the letter A. The children did so well learning the letter sound and writing the letter! 

Next Week

We will learn all about Apples! Our field trip to Chapin's Apple Orchard is Thursday. We will leave school promptly at 8:30 and return at 11:30. If you haven't already done so please turn in your permission slip.

Week 2

Hello Preschool Families and Friends,

We had a fabulous first full week of Preschool! We really have such a wonderful group this year!

This week:

We met Mat Man and practice drawing different types of lines to draw a person. Check out the awesome pictures the preschoolers drew of Mat Man!

We met Tucker the Turtle and learned how to stop, tuck like a turtle, take deep breaths, and think when we have a strong feeling so we can make a safe choice. We have "Tucker's Think Tank" in the classroom that children can go to when they need to take some time to think about making safe choices.

We learned how to be Super Friends! We learned Super Friends have: gentle hands and feet, use nice words, share and take turns with toys, look with their eyes, and listen with their ears. We will give our Super Friend awards everyday so check out the Super Friend bulletin board outside the door! Next week:

We will start our all about me unit. We will talk about ways we are alike and ways we are different. We will also begin our fundations curriculum with the letter A.
